Made in Yamaha's Taiwanese factory in the late 1980s, the RBX5 is part of the RBX family of basses first introduced in 1987 as a modern, heavily contoured series of instruments equipped with active or passive pickups, as well as a range of colour, fret and pickup configurations. Best described as a 4 string bass with an added lower string, the RBX5 retains a regular scale and size neck with closely spaced strings, much like a Fender Bass VI.
